Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
I think Seattle is the dark horse in this race. I think I see him ending up in Miami however. Warm weather team decent overall. Could bring in Reggie Wayne.
There's all this talk about Houston but I just don't think they'd give up on Schaub like that. It could happen but I don't see it.

Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
In addition to Manning, the Colts today released Gary Brackett, Dallas Clarke, Joseph Addai and Melvin Bullett.

I called the blowout sale and player slashing back around December. I'm surprised by the Clark and Addai cuts, think they could have at least garnered some mid-round picks.

Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
I'm not surprised they are trying to trade Freeney. With them switching to a 34, he's a no fit for them. However, I am surprised at the contract they gave Mathis. I don't see how he fits into their plans.
With Addai, Clark and Bullitt, I think it's about the fact that those guys don't stay healthy and they feel it's time to start fresh.
And, I read an article just a few minutes ago that the KC Chiefs have offered Peyton Manning a contract. No terms were disclosed. It also said that Arizona, Denver and Miami were the other teams on Peyton's "short list".

Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
Nope. He is going for at least 3 more visits. Miami, Houston, and Tennessee.

Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
He met with Miami today and didn't go too well, so they'll be out of picture soon. Tennessee's up next. Reports are he's not meeting with Houston.

Re: Colts to release Peyton Manning
9ers would be the team to beat if that happened, but everything I've read is saying they are still the very much dark horse in the race behind the Broncos and Titans, where'd you see that he was close to signing?

But...but...Alex Smith is a great QB...right? So much for all that baloney about Harbaugh helping Smith build confidence.
