I don't see why he would be mad... This should help him, not hurt him.
That said, 4 years, $14 million... Seems like a bargain to me. He's not great, but he's better than any known commodity that we have...

He didn't hold out, and didn't get the contract while CJ2k did. Bush gets more $$ and he still hasn't gotten close to a deal. That's what he's upset about.

I would have paid Forte a long time ago. Hes the only thing on that Bears team that scares me.

The Legend wrote: thats a tough rb group they have now with forte/bush and kahlil bell ours is garbage in comparison I agree. I really wish we would have brought him in for that kind of coin. I know I advocate all over the place for Porter, but Bush's contract was very reasonable, and he would have shored up our biggest question mark. I would have been happy going into next season with Bush as our #1 back, with a HOPE that Leshoure could come back and Best could play. I really wish that Best would just retire, but I really don't think he will (hell, I wouldn't, not with a more or less guaranty that he's going to earn his salary this year, as cutting him hurts the cap). We're just so screwed up at our RB spot that, IMO, it's throwing everything else off. I know we could draft someone, but what scares me most about that is blocking. I'm sure everyone will remember the Kevin Smith debacle, when he could run but he couldn't block, so we really couldn't play him as much as we wanted to his rookie year because the other team knew it was a running play, or our Qb would get creamed... I wish we had ONE SOLID RELIABLE VET back there... Hell we could have cut Corey Williams, signed Michael Bush, saved at least $3 million on the cap, and been a better team. I would be more comfortable with drafting a rookie #4 DT than a rookie RB that may have to have significant playing time.
