I've also read he tried to eat the dope to avoid the charge.

Sorry, but I was a huge proponent of the Lions taking this guy in the draft, and was overjoyed when they got him.

Now, I am regretting that they did. Seems he isn't understanding that he's not back in college any longer. He has a job to do, and toking on a blunt isn't part of the job description.

How much of his contract is guaranteed? I'm to the point where unless they legalize or decriminallize bud, that a conviction will void your current contract. No more screwing around with 2 or 4 month suspensions. No gauranteed money, no appeal to the league(you've already been found guilty in a criminal court) after 1 year you will be a FA with your last team having the right of 1st refusal.

Second offense in a month, but since neither brought an arrest, just walk-in arraignment, they might both fall under the initial entry into substance abuse program if he wasn't entered immediately. He could face the 4-game suspension, but its not a foregone conclusion yet. But since he wasn't arrested either time, its unlikely he'd face time under the player conduct policy.

Agreed. IMO, as long as he wasn't driving under the influence or dealing it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I can't believe these young guys that haven't "made it" yet are willing to risk their career over a little pot.

something i read on this says he faces a felony indictment. im not sure how accurate that is but it is very disappointing that he is doing this when there are people counting on him to be returning from and rehabbing a career threatening injury. not a good sign by any means.
