 Datsyuk signs with Russian Team Today Datsyuk signed with a Russian team for more money. Holland still has his hopes up and thinks the Wings still have a chance to sign him. The full story:

The Wings were looking for Pavel to replace Stevie Y. This could put the Red Wings back a couple years in there return to dominance in the NHL.
I was Glad to hear that they resigned Zetterberg. That should help with the scoring.
I just don't see where they got any return for the money they saved by letting Hatcher and McCarty go. Who is going to replace them?
Did I miss something?

They really didn't have a choice. They had to cut them so they could stay under the cap. At least, that is my understanding.
