Honestly, I like the idea of grabbing Konz if available.

Him or Silatolu would be great. Then we can trade Peterman to the Cowboys for Mike Jenkins.

I doubt Dallas gets a 4th rounder for Jenkins. I could see Mayhew getting him for a 5th or less. Jenkins isn't a Pro Bowler but he'd be good depth and an upgrade over Alphonso Smith. So here's another way the DB position can be addressed in the later rounds.

I just ran this this against my board and it is pretty close, however, I realized that DE Courtney Upshaw is still available (thanks to M2Ks rankings, I've got him higer) so add one more to the top of the list.

I am sick of settling for other teams castaways. If Mike Jenkins is the odd man out in Dallas, ie 4th best CB, then he shouldn't be considered for our 2nd best CB spot.

Who said he'd be our #2? The question is: is the guy better than players currently on the roster? Would you take Jenkins over Alphonso Smith? I would. Could he compete with Jacob Lacey or Aaron Berry? Probably.

Let's just be honest for one second here, If Calvin Johnson would be there third best WR, Maybe their 4th CB isn't all that bad

Of these guys, I wouldn't hate Glenn, Konz, or Branch, but I don't see them making it down to 54.

Also, I don't know if we would try to trade up for Jenkins. We as fans can see a need, see a player that fills said need, and bang the drum for said player to be chosen to fill said need. However, for the FO it isn't as cut and dried as with fans, especially with our offseason issues with weed. I'd rather trade up for Trumaine Johnson, or wait and grab a CB like Jamell Flemming or Brandon Boykin.

You are gonna have to accept some facts Billy. Our team has a BUNCH of "other teams castaways" that have contributed to the success of the team in 2011.

All these guys are contributors, and they were either traded, released, or not re-signed by their former teams, essentially making them another teams garbage.

Good players are good players. Jenkins is certainly not an all-star, pro bowl...whatever. But if you have a chance to improve your roster, you do it, without considering the guy involved as "garbage" because the other team no longer found a use for him.

With that many great prospects still available I hope the FO is trying to shop Avril. Maybe we could sneak another second rounder out of him and get another OL, DB, and save 10M.
