Re: Lions select Ryan Broyles, WR, (OK) Rd. 2
I love the player, Broyles was under-rated. He'll be a great target for you guys, and your offense will be even better.
But did you guys really have trouble scoring points?... Your secondary and linebacking corps was the issue. I'm confused.

Re: Lions select Ryan Broyles, WR, OK (Rd. 2)
I actually like the pick. Nate won't be around much longer and this was a projection pick for the future, not the now. They have to be looking at guys like Jenkins who is now available from Dallas, as they need a cb something fierce. I think they're fairly happy with the safety situation they have now, unfortunately. I was disappointed they passed on vinny curry. He's a steal here
Anyway, I love the variety in our wr corp now.

This has to be saying bye bye to Burleson. Why else would they be trying to fill the #4 WR "void" right now???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Re: Lions select Ryan Broyles, WR, OK (Rd. 2)
WR was a need for the Lions. Look at the teams we lost to last season down the stretch - Saints and Packers both had many more offensive options than the Lions did. Broyles adds to the arsenal for Stafford. I dont view it as pushing anybody out the door but an effort to add another legitimate offensive threat. Rashied Davis and Maurice Stovall were not good depth at WR - they were special teams help. As good as our offense was last season - it was predictable. the next thing needed is a runner and it looks like there are some good backs still left - i wouldnt be shocked at all if the next lions pick is lemichael james or lamar miller.

What about a trade to get another pick this round?

As an outsider, I didn't see it that way. They had more weapons, sure, but I don't credit that for the win. They could also tackle and make turnovers. I recall the Lions missing multiple tackles in the Saints playoff game that allowed the Saints to garner more first downs. I dunno.

The Lions drafting a WR makes as much sense as the 49ers drafting a running back...... oh wait.....

i agree with you - this pick was a reach not a BPA pick. mayhew targets guys that he wants and takes them its not necessarily BPA
