 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
I wonder who got the axe? I have heard the name before. But, don't know how good he is. I see he was drafted in the 2nd round in 2003.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
He's played for SD, Jacksonville and Buffalo. He's depth, but quality depth. My guess is Green would get the axe and move to PS.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
Good signing, like njroar said..good quality depth.
Last year with Buffalo he played 16 games, had 50 tackles, FF, and 3 INTs.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
It's not official yet. Osgood and Florence share agents, so probably got advance notice. Nothing signed yet.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
drayton is not being brought in for depth. he was a cap cut in denver .we were not looking forward to a rookie starting and lacy has played just ok.drayton is a huge upgrade to lacy .i dont expect lacy to be on the roster come november.and why would we release green a promising young corner with his size and speed.we know he wouldnt make it thru waivers.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
I watched Florence quite a bit when he was here in San Diego. Solid corner. Gets burned occasionally, but who doesn't?

If it's not Green, do they release Lacy now? or release Bell? That would leave us with Smith, Logan and Williams at back. Or do they prefer Bell over Williams?

In all likelihood, he would clear waivers and revert to the practice squad.

Spievey needs to go. I have more confidence in Barnes after a week than I do in Spievey after 2 years. Florence is flying in Sunday, so as long as he passes physical, we'll find out soon enough.

That would bring tears of joy to the eyes of us at Lionbacker if Spievey was cut.

 Re: Welcome Drayton Florence
Some tears of sorrow as well.
Not for Spievey, but for the decent pick we wasted on him.
Anybody care to look up the next few picks in that round?
