Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
Apparently Lions fans are sleepy this year. 4 days to game time and no-one has created the predictions thread? WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
I heard on Sirius/XM NFL Radio that the Rams have 5 rookies at DB. = Megatron and CO. are going to have career day.
Rams also have a rookie LT. = Our D-line is going wreck Bradford's day. I think he will have a bounce back season. But, it won't start in week 1.
Lions win a blowout of biblical proportions. Stafford throws for 600 yards and 7 TD's before letting Hill have some fun.
_________________ Fisher or Joekel or Lane Johnson for #5 overall. I have settled on Johnson as my preference. The only thing Joekel and Fisher have over him is experience at LT. 2 years from now, Lane Johnson will be known as the best LT of this draft!

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
The Lions are 7 to 7 1/2 point favorites with a 46ish point spread according to the wonderful people in Vegas. If my math is someone correct that makes this a 27 - 20 type game favoring the Lions.
In all honesty I'll take the "W" even if the Lions don't cover the spread, But I really expect to put a little more of a pounding on the Rams, in the 30 - 13 variety.
Madden damn you and your curse - Stafford 300 yards and 3 td's, 2 by way of Megatron!

This is one of those games the Lions just should win.
I say 31-17 Lions.

Three out of four Detroit News guys picked the Rams.

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
I anticipate a bit of a slow start with the Lions pulling away. 30-20 Lions win.
My biggest concern is that the Lions are looking ahead to week 2 SF.

Why would anyone pick the rams? Unless they just want to be contrarian.
Lions have this one easy. If they don't, this will be a very sad season.

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
This game should play into the Lions strengths and weaknesses. The Lions secondary is a major concern, who are the Rams receievers again?
Gunther and company need to focus on shutting down Stephen Jackson and everything else should fall into place. Bradford or Special teams will create one big play.
On offense, nobody on the Rams will be able to stop CJ - I'm not sure they can stop him with double teams.
Detroit 33 Rams 10

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
Billy, I don't know where you get your info from, but you better find another source.
Rams LT is Roger Saffold. Not a rookie. However, they do have a starting guard that is a rookie. And Janoris Jenkins is listed as a starter in their secondary. All others are not rookies.
While the Rams may be an improved team, they still don't have the firepower to keep up with the Lions. They have a shaky offensive line, their secondary is definitely sub par, and their receivers are nothing to write home about. Steven Jackson and Isaiah Pead may give the Lions defense some fits, but I can't see it being enough against a healthy Stafford to Johnson/Young/Burleson/Pettigrew/Scheffler. Our defensive line will be the thing of nightmares for Bradford. Our only real question mark will be the health of our secondary.
Stafford throws forover 400 yards and four TDs. Our defense gives up 130 yards rushing, but just over 200 yards in the air.
Lions 34 Rams 14

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
Calvin burns Cortland Finnegan and a safety deep for a TD. Matthew Stafford throws 3+ TDs Kevin Smith looks like a serviceable starting RB.
Lions win 31-17, 7 of the Rams' points in garbage time.

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
27-14 as the Lions spend more time then they would agaisnt a better team to try and establish a running game. It isnt as close as the score Indicates.
