Rams LT is Roger Saffold. Not a rookie. However, they do have a starting guard that is a rookie. And Janoris Jenkins is listed as a starter in their secondary. All others are not rookies.
While the Rams may be an improved team, they still don't have the firepower to keep up with the Lions. They have a shaky offensive line, their secondary is definitely sub par, and their receivers are nothing to write home about. Steven Jackson and Isaiah Pead may give the Lions defense some fits, but I can't see it being enough against a healthy Stafford to Johnson/Young/Burleson/Pettigrew/Scheffler. Our defensive line will be the thing of nightmares for Bradford. Our only real question mark will be the health of our secondary.
Stafford throws forover 400 yards and four TDs. Our defense gives up 130 yards rushing, but just over 200 yards in the air.
Lions 34 Rams 14 So, I was off by 1 spot to the right? That is just 1 spot closer to the QB. Nit pick much?

Quote: So, I was off by 1 spot to the right? That is just 1 spot closer to the QB. Nit pick much? Well, to be fair, if a team has a bad left tackle, a good pass rush can quite literally shut down the entire passing game down. That game a few years ago where SD got like 10+ sacks in one game comes to mind.

Re: Lions vs. Rams week 1 predictions thread.
The thing I've always liked about him college/pro is that he doesn't lose tons of yards alot, he usually can sliver and fight his way back to the LOS. He's in a no win situation on a non running football team, people don't really think when they bash the Lions run game. We aren't a running team..We don't even have a fullback lol... that shows how much we care about running. Not ever going to be a good running team until we turn into a power run team..which will likely be never and probably should be never.

We have way too many runs where the DL seem to be in the backfield when the ball is handed off, but KJ often does a good job of fighting for 2 or 3 yards to at least keep us in the same position. It's sad that we need a running back with that skill, but given our OL it's good that he's got it!

The only starting rookie DB is Janoris Jenkins, who probably would have started for us and about 12 other teams had he been taken by any of them? Having rookies start doesn't necessarily constitute a bad thing for the team starting them. Rokevious Watkins, the rookie guard, is pretty good and an upgrade over what they had. Michael Brockers, if he was going to play, is definitely a pretty good player and better than whoever is replacing him, and Janoris Jenkins may turn out to be better than any corner we have on our roster right now, including Chris Houston. St. Louis improved over last season personnel wise, have a much better head coach and won't be the cake walk many envision them to be.

You can't see any advantage to us when we stretch them out into nickle and dime so that they have to put 2 or 3 of those rookie DB's on the field at the same time? Watkins may be an upgrade. But, he is a Rookie and will get schooled against our D-line.
