Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
I count 5 drops so far. 2 on the drive starting at the 8 after the punt

BIG mistake keeping Jonte Green. Embarrassing.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
This could be over. At least earlier we were moving the ball, now a first down is getting tough. Losing to a 2-14 team at home would not be a good way to start...........

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
I believe 8 of Staffords 16 picks last year came in two games (4 each). Maybe we just need to accept a few BAD games each year. Yeah there have been some drops, but all they have done is keep us from salvaging a bad game that shouldn't have been so ugly earlier on.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
What a clutch drive. They showed it all last year, and did it again today. Not over, need a touchback here

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
IN STAFFORD I TRUST! dude has ice water veins. started off with some bad picks and ends the game with 2 td drives where they go down the field with ease.

You're never out of it with Staff and CJ. And Pett came back and had a brilliant drive, so props to him.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
I've been a Lions fan for 45 years, it's hard to get used to having a team that can do these things!!!

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
Did Stafford decide to wear KVB's glove?
Plus points:
- Was that really the Lions run defense out there? Looked way better than last season. - Was that really the Lions ST out there? (apart from Logan running backwards on one punt return) Looked way better than last season. - Pass D looked better than it should with that collection of DBs. - Offence moved the ball well, and 2 great 4th Q drives to win the game.
Negative points:
- The INTS.
Overall, I'm pretty happy. The turnovers made it harder than it should have been but we got the W - it could have been the Bears at Soldier Field from 2011 the way wee turned the ball over, but we won.

Re: GAME DAY THREAD: Lions vs. Rams
Good teams can win when they play bad, and that's what the Lions did today. It was positively ugly on offense, but the D was solid. And I know people are jumping on Green for that TD, but watch the replay, he covered it as well as you could cover it, it was a great pass. If he can get his head turned he might have had a chance, but it's tough to defend a pass placed like that.
D only gave up 78 yards rushing on 27 attempts (2.8ypc) and 169 yards passing. We rushed for 83 yards in 18 attempts (4.6ypc) and had 346 yards passing. Calvin looked blanketed all game and still ended up with 6 catches for 111 yards. He was only targeted 7 times.
Ugly game, but as Killer always said... a QB isn't paid for stats.. he's paid for W's. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss anyway.
