Re: The Official Leyland Must Go Thread
The issue I have noticed with Valverde is his pitches stay on the same plain...has good movement side to side but no downward motion. Even his curve just curves doesn't drop like one should. He gets hit hard every almost game. Most of the time the hits are......(after a few base hits).....to someone or fly ball but hit well. Thats how he gets his saves, not because he is all that good of a pitcher. His record does not indicate he is not very good ( at least this year )

Sounds like bandwagon fans to me and they are afraid to come back. But regarding JV, all world absolutely. Correct me if im wrong..but 22 K's in two games? Awesome. Go Tigers.

Re: The Official Leyland Must Go Thread
Great comeback win by the Tigers. They showed some real heart. Terrible managing once again leaving Valverde in after the Oakland outing AND giving up a two run homer in the 9th. I think Valverde is done except in mop up duty. Dotel looks to be the logical choice for the primary closer, though I think it will be somewhat by committee. As much as I hate the Yanks, I hate to see a great player like Jeter go down hard in the playoffs. It's looking worse today for the Yanks than for us I'm thinking...go Tigers!
