Tyrann Mathieu should be high (no pun intended) on the Lions list come the 2nd - 3rd round range. This is a guy who was touted as one of the best players in college football prior to his dismissal at LSU for marijuana and appears to have turned his life around for the better. I think his potential as a productive nickel corner and pro bowl caliber return man out weighs the possibility of him getting into trouble again. Regardless of who we take in the 1st whether it be Fisher, Ziggy, or even Millner, I think Mathieu would improve two phases of the game for us. What are your thoughts fellas?

I really like him as a player. I like his fiery attitude, and his playmaking ability is amazing. I, however, hope we take him in the 3rd at the earliest. If he can gain some strength in the next few years and improve his man coverage skills, I think he can play on the outside and be Tim Jennings 2.0... Really like this guy.

Agree, except the Reid part.

Just the type of player they should steer clear of.

I think reality has slapped the crap out of this guy. He has missed an entire year and has said and done all the right things since. Even if he gets popped on a pee test again, he has enough talent that someone will trade for him. example: Aquib Talib.

My thoughts exactly, no reason Bush should have to be the "primary" back like they said he would be when they signed him AND return kicks and punts. Nickel packages are only used on occasion and Mathieu was an excellent returner in college. The Lions are in no position to pass on talent for mistakes players have made, that is how they got into messes like this to begin with. Also what happened to Devin Thomas I remember they signed him late in the year but he never saw action did he get cut or is he still on the roster?
