Post Who do you like for the second round Lions pick?
Which player do you think the Lions should target for the second round?

Choices:

OT - Menelik Watson, Terron Armstead
OG - Larry Warford, Brian Winters
WR - Justin Hunter, Robert Woods
CB - Jamar Taylor, Jonathan Banks
S - Johnathan Cyprien, Philip Thomas
LB - Arthur Brown, Sio Moore

Or do you feel there is someone else they should target?

I think Watson is very likely. Seems like a solid pick. Ditto Brown

OT - Watson - Armstead I think was too mcuh Workout Warrior, at #65 id take him in a heartbeat. Maybe even trade up from 65 to mid-late 2nd, but not with #36.

WR - Hunter, Woods, Allen

DE - Tank Carradine, Margus Hunt (Yes we need a 2nd DE unless you like Jason Jones as our #2 DE for the next few years)

Like all the rest of your choices but would say Your Safeties, CBs, OLBs, and OGs would all be great tragets for Pick #65 and 1 ore more should be available there.

Watson is probably the highest rated, and would make sense. But wouldn't mind Warford. Interesting, the Lions coached both those kids at the Senior Bowl. Hunter might be in play also. But for me, I like taking the O-lineman, whoever it is.

After additional thought, the Lions could be in great position to trade back if there are teams looking to get a specific player at the top of two. Getting an additional 3rd or 4th for moving back makes the most sense. So, first and foremost, trading back is my hope.

Justin Hunter, he has WR1 talent and would make it impossible for teams to blanket CJ. Also Staff likes to throw the ball high and Hunter is 6'4''.

Watson has bad footwork is just as raw as Ziggy, but at a more difficult position and he's already 25 yrs old. There is good reason for him falling. Armstead has played football longer has better footwork and is a great athlete. He's a much better prospect than Watson.

Like I said in the chat, the Lions second pick would have lots of options at DE like those above, you still have Damontre Moore and a few other prospects I still like there.

I've got Watson rated pretty high, but well below the top 3 taken.

Mayhew loves to take WRs in the 2nd, so that is what I'm preparing for mentally. He also said he liked Manti a lot, then again he said he wasn't going to go with a boom or bust (HR swing) in the first round so don't believe anything he spews out.

Love your statement and completely agree. We take Hunter at #36, I'm smitten and jump back into the second late for Armstead, I'm popping and locking. Lol!!

Hell, Let's be the Dallas Mavericks of the NFL bring all the foreigners to Detroit. We have Ansah & Rugland, let's bring the other Englishman (Lawrence Okoye) DE a project in the 5th or 6th.

Keenan Allen? Or one of the OTs or CBs.

I still like Alford in the third

I would narrow it down to an OT if a starting caliber OT is available or the best available receiver. I guess I'd probably go with Justin Hunter.

What does it matter, Mayhew will select some oddball player anyway.

Im gonna catch hell for this, but I like Te'o. Also, Jonathan Banks, Amerson, Okafor, Brown.
