 Beer
You know it's teased with the description on this subforum, but I've never once seen a topic on it. What do you guys drink?
Admittedly, I'm a bit of beer snob. I never drink mainstream beer if I can help it. Particularly because we just have so many great breweries in the state -- Bell's, New Holland, Dark Horse, Dragonmead, and Founder's.
My favorite beer is New Holland's Dragon's Milk. Hands down the best beer I've ever had. Founder's Porter is up there as well.

 Re: Beer
I used to like Magic Hat, but it's seemingly been watered down since it's gone more main stream. Dragon Mead Final Absolution is alright, and i don't mind their Eric the Red, but Kunhen's beers blow them away. Of all the local breweries, Kuhnen is the only one that regulaly wins anything in the world beer cup.
I really like Atwater's Vanilla Java Porter. I tend to like stouts and porters, I'm not big on overly hoppy IPAs.

 Re: Beer
Sadly I've a mild beer allergy, specifically 'hops'. While I enjoy the taste, I don't enjoy the headaches. As such, I look for lower hopped beers, though Nobil Hops seem to affect me less. My current favorite bottled beer is Newcastle. That said, if I am in a bar, I will drink and enjoy almost any Microbrew on tap (fruit flavors not included).
My favorite brewery pubs are Darkhorse and Big Buck. (I haven't been to Founder's)
I should give a shout out to Ashley's in Ann Arbor, as they serve an incredible selection of single malt scotch, including 'flights' of single malt. Truly a wonderful afternoon if someone else is driving home.
If anyone is in Philadelphia, PA, they have 'City Tavern' located in the historic district, they serve four beers, brewed from recipes of Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Franklin, and they also serve 'Jefferson Bourbon', also made from a Jefferson recipe. The presidential beers are brewed by 'Yards' a brewery in Philly, but I did not go there to check it out.

 Re: Beer
My buddy started brewing. He has made some fantastic IPA, 2 Hart and amber ails. I also do not go for the Main stream Bud/light and the lot. I like a little more flavor than those offer.

 Re: Beer
I'm more of a sweet tooth kind of guy. So instead of beer I will order the apple cider ales instead of a beer when I want a break from my usual Captain Morgans. Although I do enjoy most of the seasonal fruit beers that Sam Adams puts out from time to time.

 Re: Beer
My favorite all around beer is "Dead Guy Ale". Although, it is hard to find. A Maibock beer produced by "Rogue Ales" out of the state of Oregon. If you run across this Ale, try it, you won't be disappointed.

 Re: Beer
When I was living in the US, I drank a lot of IPAs. I love hoppy beers like Bell's Two Hearted, Dogfish Head 60 & 90 minute IPA, etc. Sadly, here in Indonesia there just isn't anything like that available. They tax the hell out of alcohol, so it's mucho expensive. For example, a bottle of wine that costs $10 in the US will be around $35-$40 here. Beer is the same. A 6 pack of Heineken (one of the best beers available here) will run you $20 or more.
Luckily I'm moving to London in a couple months, so I'll be able to get real beer again. Praise jeebus!

Military? ( I ask out of jelousy! ) No not military. Actually it's my wife's job that's moving us around the world. She's in a rotation program with her company. It is four, 1-year rotations, each one in a different location. First one was Philly, 2nd is here in Jakarta, 3rd is London, and then after that we'll be back in the US. For me, currently not working. I was working in consulting for Accenture. I did that for a year & a half (including a few months of work over here), but I'm done with it now. Not my cup of tea. I don't know what the future holds, but I've got a few things I'm working towards. For now, I got me a sugar momma

I currently work as a training director at a radio station but I'm sure we'll be on the move again soon. Haven't lived outside the country yet but your wife's job sounds cool. Gotta love the sugar mommas
