I'll get it started....

I have
Matthew Stafford
MJD
Dez Bryant
AJ Green
Greg Jennings
James Jones

in a 10 team NFL.com fantasy league and can only keep 1, which one?
I'm leaning towards Stafford....

  :ppp:

You have to go with Dez or AJ. IMO, it's Dez since Romo will be throwing the ball more than ever once DeMarco Murray goes down again, and Dez is getting way better every year. If you believe AJ will be better, take him. Nonetheless, I think it must be one of them. The QB class is so, so deep that you can get Eli or Big Ben in the 11th-12th round, and MJD is not nearly as valuable as Dez/AJ.

Depends on the scoring system and who everyone else is keeping.

I agree with Shotty. You gotta keep either Dez or AJ since both would probably go in the 2nd round. Stafford would last awhile longer unless homerism kicks in. The other possibility would be MJD, but I'm a little scared off by him this year due to his injury.

As for more general advice to the masses, the two time Lionbacker Fantasy Football Champion will refrain from doing so until after his draft on August 28th. :D

However, I will say that I was planning on taking Jeremy Maclin earlier than most would before he blew out his freaking knee. The change in offensive scheme and it being his contract year added up to a huge year for him in my view. Oh well. I still have a couple of other sleepers up my sleeve and I like my success rate with my "hunches".

RB: CJ2K, Lamar Miller, Le'Veon Bell, Rashard Mendenhall
WR: Brandon Marshall, Julio Jones, Hakeem Nicks, Denarius Moore, Tavon Austin, Mike Williams
TE: Cameron (Browns)
D/ST: Sign and play defense by the week depending on which offense they're against
K: Akers (self-explanitory)

Your TE and DEF scare me a bit. In 10 team leagues, everybody has a strong team. Not having a potential 15-20 pointer in 2 spots could come back to haunt you. I would pay close attention to who develops in N.E. and hope you're faster on the draw there than anyone else.

In a standard scoring, 10-team league, how does my first three picks of Spiller and two other running backs like Chris Johnson, Gore, Lamar Miller, Forte sound? Every year I always seem to get excited about a top WR and pass on a good RB, forgetting that they are rare. So this year Im thinking of going RB-RB-RB, then filling in the rest. I know I can wait on a QB and I know that WR is deep. Its risky, especially passing on guys like Julio, Demaryius, Marshall..etc.

Thoughts?

I don't think this works. IMO, you should take Calvin anywhere from #6 on with your first pick, and if he's taken take Spiller. If you take Calvin, take two straight RBs. There are many that will be left. S-Jax and/or Ridley should be there on the way back after Calvin, then after the long way back Reggie should be there, and he's one of the most underrated RBs. 1,300 yards on a below average offense, I think he's capable of 1,750-2,000 total with us.

2 things,

I always advise keeping with a liquid strategy for a draft. You try to stick with a plan you will likely miss out on some very valued players.

And the other, Shotty just made sure Reggie gets picked waaaaaaaay to early in our league! Lol

I'm picking 3. Some say that's too early for Spiller, but IMO that's way too early for Calvin. And then picking at 18, there's no guarantee Ridley will be there or s jax. Matter of fact I'm willing to bet both will be gone. I'm not passing on he chance to secure a top 5 back.

At number 3 you actually have a shot a AP or Foster. Last year Rodgers went #1 in every league I played...

I don't see Rodgers going that high this year. Sorry, 3 is about the worst spot this year - gimme 1, 2 or last in the 1st round please.

Ours is a ppr..Calvin will go top 3 in ours, I'd bet a dollar on it.

So lets say I take Spiller or Charles at 3, would it be bad to take one of those other guys with my 18th pick and then again with my 23rd? Im very high on Lamar Miller and and seriously thinking of taking him at my 3rd pick, giving me 3 starting RBs, and also preventing someone else from getting them.
