If Schwartz is canned, who is the right guy for the job next season?

I wouldn't mind giving any college HC or a long-time NFL coach as long as they can keep the team disciplined, motivated, and focused.

This. I wouldn't mind Brian Billick either, if he's interested.

I'd like jon gruden. One of the only guys that offers a great commentary and insight on how to make in game adjustments. I'd like him not specifically a s a HC, but I'd love to have him as a press box advisor type coach.

Bill Parcels, if nothing else - his press conferences are awesome.

Anybody but Lovie. While he had wining records for the most part, it always appeared that he was walking on a high wire and wobbling badly. No, thanks, I'll pass.

I'm not going to name a specific coach, because who knows who will be available after the season is over. But I will say this, I have a type of coach in mind.

I want someone who is not a harsh disciplinarian, but who demands his players respect him and the game.
I want someone who demands perfection, and gets the players focused in that regard.
I want a coach who can recognize talent at all levels, but won't let potential blind him from the fact that a player with potential that is not playing to the potential is holding someone back that could be a better fit for the team.
I want a coach that has a really good understanding of the nuances of the game, has a good track record of clock management and won't let emotion cloud his ability to make a rational and well thought out decision.
I want a coach that demands that his coordinators have systems that are flexible and simple, all at the same time. In game adjustments sometimes need to happen, and any system worth its weight in the NFL should allow for that.

Finally, I want a coach that gets his team prepared and plays to WIN, not to not lose.

Sounds like Tom Moore to me. I know he is old. But, I think he will be in the game until the day he dies. I would welcome Tom Moore being the HC of the Lions. He should have been a HC a long time ago.

Also would be ecstatic. If he can get brad Johnson to play well, imagine what he can get out of Stafford. He is always raving about him when he is in the box for lions games as well

I think there are a few college coaches that have the potential to succeed with the leap to the NFL, Shaw, Petersen, and Briles. Unfortunately the only one I think that will make the jump is Shaw. That being said I'd take any of them, but Briles really intrigues me with his ability to get success out of any team. He isn't handcuffed to one style of play and is more than ready to adjust to fit his personnel.
