Lions vs Falcons London game to have earlier start
ESPN wrote: LONDON -- London is getting its first NFL day game, creating a new morning time slot for viewers in the United States. The NFL said Wednesday that the game between the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 26, 2014, will start at 1:30 p.m. local time, making it a 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff in the U.S. The league said the switch will make it easier for a global audience to tune in and also create an unprecedented fourth game window for American viewers that day. The Wembley games have traditionally started at the same time as the 1 p.m. kickoffs in the U.S. The other two London games scheduled for next season -- Dolphins-Raiders on Sept. 28 and Cowboys-Jaguars on Nov. 9 -- will both start at 6 p.m. local time. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10079 ... ext-seasonDetroitLions.com wrote: WAKING UP WITH THE LIONSThe NFL announced today that Detroit's Week 8 (October 26) international game vs. Atlanta in London will take place at a brand new broadcasting time -- 9:30 a.m. ET, or 1:30 p.m. in the UK. The game will air LIVE in the United States on FOX. "The new start time will give U.S. fans a fourth game window on an NFL Sunday for the first time while allowing a global audience to tune in at a new, earlier time," said the NFL in a press release. Oakland will host Miami Week 4 (1 p.m. ET) and Jacksonville will host Dallas Week 10 (1 p.m. ET). http://www.detroitlions.com/news/lions- ... 472ef2e13d

well, I guess that technically gives us another (inter)nationally televised game next year, although I doubt any west coasters are going to be up at 6:30 to be watching it. Pablo is going to need some extra coffee that morning. that'll be a what? 7:30 game for him?

I like it. I'm a person who is up early anyway. I would love to have a game on every Sunday morning at 9:30am.......I should move to CA....but I cannot afford a home out there.

I hate this idea. Now the NFL is forcing people to choose between going to church or watching the NFL. Or you have to Tivo the game and watch it after church. This is just wrong.

I loved having football at 9 30 am while I was in CA. After 6 years of that I was completely at a loss for what to do until the games start this year. It was also great to be able to have all the standard games over by around 4 30 and be able to go eat dinner while watching the sunday night game.

GOOD NEWS!Church is also regularly scheduled on Sunday night, and Wed. nights. AND you can always hold your own private "chruch time" in your home! As you mentioned Tivo would work just fine. it's not like any of your fellow churchgoers are going to rat out the score on you,....they wont be watching either Quote: I loved having football at 9 30 am while I was in CA. I use the pregame time to my chores. after 1pm hits, I am USELESS! totally glued to the TV till bed time!

What about the NCAA 'forcing' the Jewish faith to choose between the 'Sabbath' and watching their games?

I'm only an hour behind in the Central time zone so it will be an 8:30 am game for me, only problem is that I will only be on my 2nd or 3rd beer by kickoff for that game. Actually, I'm a little surprised the NFL is allowing this. Think of the impact on fantasy football and last minute injury replacements, getting up that early in the West and Mountain time zones is going to suck.

New kick off time means I might not have to take a day off work on the Monday in order to go, too, so that's handy. Although I'll probably still stay over in London and make a proper weekend of it. Will be good to finish up and head to a bar showing the remainder of the day's games, hopefully in a good mood from a good result.

Re: Lions vs Falcons London game to have earlier start
If I'm still in London next year at that time I'll definitely go. As of now, my plan is to leave London in September. Figures. I moved out of Philly just before the Lions played there, and now I'll be moving out of London just before they play here.
