I don't want an interim HC to possibly get the full time job.

so you actually think if linehan or cunningham takes over for 1 game and beats Minnesota that they would automatically make him the full time head coach????

Yeah. I mean that what the word possibly means right?

The Lions were playing against themselves all season long. Quality of opponent didn't seem to matter all that much.

Sums it up.

This team should have been at worst 10-6. A 12-4 record at minimum, but they found new ways to self destruct. They need a coach that holds players accountable and makes it known that 6-3 leading the division in November means absolutely nothing. These players think they've arrived when they have a lead and then they blow it. Good/Great teams to drop some games, so 1 or 2 close losses is expected, but dropping 7 games with leads or being tied in the fourth is miserable.

Cards game- bad PI call gave the Cards the ball at the 1, game over.
Bengals game - tied and couldn't move into scoring range. Bad punt and instead of OT we lose.
Steelers game- they adjusted at halftime to our offensive explosion in the second quarter and we didn't.
Bucs game- Inexcusable turnovers all day. Looking past them to the Packers on Thanksgiving. Calvin drops a pass at the 2, INT game over.
Eagles game- got the lead and gave up. Insanely bad fourth quarter.
Ravens game - did nothing on O except turn it over, drops killed us.
Giants game- came back in the second half to lead 20-13 and should have been able to put it away. Instead poor execution and bad throws/drops and we lose. Gave up on 4th and 7.

Out of all those games we only needed 1 or 2 to be in the playoffs, and great teams would have won at least 5 of those. Good teams would have won at least 3.

We sure as heck aren't a great team and aren't even a good team right now.

To make it worse, the Pack lost and the Bears are down 21-0. Everyone trying to hand us the division and we refused to take it. Even after all the screwups had we won today, we could have taken the division with a win next week no matter the outcome of the Bears-Packers game.

The funny part is, I was home in Michigan for the first time this football season and actually declined the invite to turn on the tv to watch this team lose. I knew they would be in control, turn the ball over numerous times, get penalties at the worst times, and play like scared pee wee leaguers when they got up by a td. Sure enough, that looks like what happened according to the yahoo game cast

thats exactly what happened afaik. I couldn't watch the game except for gamecast on my phone but when I saw them up 20-13 with the ball in the 4th I had no doubt they would blow it.

Bottom Line: The did not play like a team fighting for a playoff spot.
