Post Screen size question
When I view the forums and the threads I have to use a scroll bar at the bottom... the page doesnt fit my screen.

I visit a couple other boards, and this is the only one I need to scroll right to see the whole page... Do I need to make a settings change??

Thanks for the help.

Good question OldSchool. We built the rest of the Lionbacker pages to fit smaller screens, the forum was set up to accomodate larger screens. I have the same problem when there is 1) a wide photo on the page or 2) someone's avatar is too large. Do you have this problem on every page?

I don't think it has anything to do with your settings, but rather the width size we have set in the forum. Let me know if you have a problem on every page, or just some of the pages. There are different solutions depending on the nature of the problem.

Ok I think I figured it out. My monitors home PC, laptop, and office are set to a resolution of 800x600. I tried changing the home PC to the next highest setting 1024x768 and then the forums and threads fit the screen without having to scroll left and right.

Unfortunately at a higher resolution the type becomes too small to read.

I think a big part of the issue is avatar sizes...we have been pretty lax on enforcing it but we let people know when they have em way to large. We may eventually make people resize them to be more reasonable though.

Maybe some night when you kicking around you could play with the margins.. see how it would look if you got it to fit a 800x600. Myabe it wouldnt look much different but would allow us with 800x600 to see read the board withouth scrolling left and right.

As I said this is the only bb that I have noticed this?? Fwiw.

I think putting a paramater on Avatar width.. maybe 200 would help but wouldnt be enough to keep you from having to scroll.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Working in the IT industry I see all sorts of settings, that being said I believe that 1024x768 is the current industry standard, meaning that about 80-90% of all applications/software written today are written for a minimum of 1024x768. I would suggest trying to use the large fonts option if 1024x768 is too small. JMHO

old school I will definately look at it...I don't often venture into the world of 800x600 but I will see what it looks like so I can get a sense of how much change is needed :D

Thanks for the idea. I tried the higher resolution and changed the text to largest and it didnt change the text.

80% seems high but you could be right I dont know.

And what is interesting, as I mentioned before is that this is the only board I visit that needs a scroll bar. There must be a reason all these other sites fit the 800x600?? My guess is so that any resolution setting can view the page without scrolling.

Maybe I need to get glasses or bigger screens..

Speaking of avatars, yours is pretty gay, LionsFan57.

I'm a fan of Axel Foley and all, but I don't necessarily need to see his rectum in my face every time you post.
