Quote: I think we're going to lose to Dallas!
Wow, that was an understatement. But hey, if we were going to lose, we might as well have gotten whooped like we did. Since that game is out of our system, time to go on another run!

Well I just want to say Congrats to all who participated in the polls. We all showed that we know a lot about the NBA and our Detroit Pistons. The two most voted for teams giving the Pistons their first loss of the season did in fact beat the Pistons. Both the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards beat the Pistons. I'll probably be coming out with another post of the most likely defeat in the month of December and hopefully we'll get it right again!!
ALSO GO MICHIGAN BASKETBALL!! So far we're 3-0 (after beating 3 crappy teams), but we're playing the University of Miami Nov. 29 at 9:30 pm on ESPN 2 if anybody wants to check it out!!
P.S: I was accepted to the University of Michigan school of engineering 3 weeks ago!! I was really excited and am 95% sure I'll be going there next year!! GO BLUE!!

Like what??!! Michigan is a top 5 engineering school in the country!! Sure MIT might be better, but does MIT have the social life and campus like the University of Michigan does??!!

If by social life you mean 25000 drunken Harvard rejects...then no. The only difference is that they're Ivy League rejects. Other than that...it's all the same.
Western Michigan, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa State...I've taken classes at each school and every school is pretty much the same. WMU for example has a terrible ME program, but a very good EE program. MSU's ME program sucks. ISU's ME program is very good. Michigan's is pretty good, but I wasn't surprised at anything in their course plan, professors, equipment or anything like that.
Point is, Michigan is a big name school, but it's not "all-world" like some people make it out to be.
Also - many schools have CERTAIN engineering programs that they excel in, and some they are average in - Michigan is one of these schools. Yeah they're top 5, but they could be top 50 if you were to go Con E.
Most jobs, it doesn't matter where you get your undergrad from. I recently had an interview with Caterpillar and he asked me why I chose ISU and I told him I liked the atmosphere a hell of a lot better than at U of M and he said that many companies, such as Cat, prefer to hire people from smaller schools such as Bradley University. John Deere and Pella prefer ISU grads. It all depends. Just because it's a big name school doesn't mean it's the best.

Yes, but you have to remember that Michigan is across the street for him, he won't be going too far from home, and it's 1/4 the price of any Ivy League school.
Your point about the UG degree is 100% true. The only question anyone asks when you try to get employed is where you got your masters from. But of course farmers want people from Iowa compared for Michigan
AD - conversion makes some great points. Make sure that what you want to go into, the school is strong in. The strongest schools for my major actually were Ohio U. and U Massachusetts, and they are nowhere near around the top schools in the country according to "school ratings".

How about we get back on track here!! There is a huge game coming up this friday between the Pistons and none other than the New York Knicks. Do you think the Pistons will give their old coach a good old rectum whipping or will the Knicks shock the Pistons on national TV? Please post your thoughts!!
IMO, I think the Pistons will smoke the inexperienced New York Knicks!!

The Pistons should throttle the young Knicks. I really don't see them giving the Pistons any problems. Should be an easy win and LB will actually see Darko play! Ummmm, I mean play meaningful minutes.
