It might be the end of the NHL in general, i don't see them being able to come back from this. Atleast not in America. Oh well, LONG LIVE THE IHL!!

I think that they might make it if they get a cap and yank the desert teams. Aniheim, Atlanta, Carolina, Florida, LA, Phoenix, Tampa, do we really need these teams?

I think the NHL will be back...just much smaller IMO. I think its actually going to in time improve the team...no more dellusions of being a top 4 sport when in reality you are appealing to a niche market. I like the thought of less teams and no more Yankees on ice...I know that is an unpopular view in Detroit but I hate when a team with 100 mil payroll plays a team with way less then half of that.

What can you say? except Sad Sad Sad.
I will really miss hockey, I know it never has and never will be a Major player in the U.S. but it was a great game and I am gonna miss it. Perhaps im just being pessimistic but I dont really see the NHL recovering from all this greed. Time to get the Red Wing Sweaters on E-bay because we might never see em again.

I would hope that only a few teams get contracted and other cities like Mil. would have opportunities to get their teams because the can locally support it and not based on TV contracts.

I think we could change the caption to "NHL is Dead"
