 Tag, you're it!
Tags that came down in the last day or so:
Darius (S) - Jags
Alexander (RB) - Seahawks
James (RB) - Colts
Franks (TE) - Packers
Peterson (LB) - 49ers
Vinatieri (K) - Patriots
------------------------------------
How good must the Pats be to be able to franchise a kicker???
Who didn't get tagged was Plaxico Burress of the Steelers...
Also, wide receiver Jerry Porter and the Raiders have reached an agreement on a multi-year extension to keep him in Oakland, according to ESPN.com.

Works out to about $2.5M. Crazy thing is that this is the SECOND time the Pats have franchised him. Then again, if he keeps kicking GW SB FGs he is worth it.
Look for Mr. Clutch to sign a long-term deal prior to the season starting anyway.

I found a different number regarding the franchising price for a kicker...$1.787 Mil (Washington Times). Not that I care to dispute the number or anything.
Hasselbeck's deal was 6 years for $47 Mil, didn't know if this was already posted or not. Jones' was 7 year $52.5 Mil.

I bet James gets traded...
They recently signed Dominic Rhodes to a 2 year deal, 4 million dollars. That's not backup runningback money.
And James didn't get the "exclusive" franchise tag.
Nah nah nah nah..... nah nah nah nah...... hey hey hey.... GOOD BYE!

I was thinking the same. I wonder who will trade for him?

The Pack did slap Bubba with the transitional tag.
"The Packers placed the transitional tag on tight end Bubba Franks on Monday. We're still scratching our heads at that one because it would have cost the team less than $600,000 to designate him as the franchise player, which would have ensured his return next season.
As it stands, any team can make an offer to Franks, and then it will be up to the Packers to match or pass on the offer. Surely there is another team out there that is willing to up the ante by at least $600,000, so the Packers will either lose money on this deal or lose their talented tight end. At this point, it appears Franks is on his way out. Meanwhile, fellow tight ends David Martin and Ben Steele are also free agents, so the Packers could be without their three top tight ends next season."

Those were the tags that came down in the last day, but doesn't include all the players that were franchised.
