Tough call...I say Mooch'll bench Joey if he's playing like he did at GB.

This is really a question of "How do you think Joey will do next season?"

The job is still ballgame's to lose. If he starts like last season, he will keep playing. If he goes into a funk like he did last season, then will see Garcia in the game. After that I have two words - quarterback controversy.

Our best teams had QB controversies in the 90s...

I chose option #3... and if that indeed happens, I don't see the Lions finishing better than 6-10.

How well do you think Garcia is capable of playing now? Better than Joey?

I made a 100 dollar bet with a Browns fan I know. He said he thought Dilfer would have a higher QB rating than Gracia. The only stipulation was they both had to throw over a 100 passes.

I like Dilfer. He isn't spectacular, but he gets the job done. I think you will win the bet though, since we have a better team to help Garcia.

I agree with all of that. However, I doubt it Garcia will throw 100 balls.

" doubt it Garcia will throw 100 balls"

That is why we stuck that part in there. Becuse, I dont think he will play much. I am glad we picked him up and he will serve his purpouse well.(pushing Joey)

That statement is what caused the frindley bet. He said he was glad Garcia was gone and thought he sucked and was a wash up. But, I told him I was glad the Browns got there Super Bowl QB back, Oh wait he won that after he Browns left town.[/quote]

Post He'll Start
I don't know what you guys are thinking, but I have a feeling that during pre-season is when this battle will occur. Garcia didn't sign to be some slouch's backup, he's gunnin for the job! As I understand it Joe and Jeff will duke it out in P.S. to see who the starter is gonna be. Why else would he come here? To look at Harringtons rectum? If he didn't htink he could beat him out he would of went to denver or seattle, I know I'd rather try to take harrington's job than fight Hasselback for his, so there you have it Garcia beats out Joey-boy, in preseason and is the starter, Lions win the division at 11-5, and win a first round playoff game, then lose a close one to wrap up the season. Any Questions?

Garcia said he was willing to accept a backup job anywhere he went...Detroit, Denver, Seattle, Tampa Bay...Granted, he'll get to compete for the job, but Mooch has made it clear that Joey will be the starter going into next season. I don't think preseason will play a very big role unless Joey bombs like he did in games 7-13.

Also, I don't see us going 11-5 unless we do something with the OL. Joyce/Loverne both suck and we need depth at OT, or rather, another starter at OT.
