Post Clark Judge's Mock
Here's a mock from Clark Judge, CBS Sportsline. Mocks are always interesting. **In case anyone cares, David Terrell is reported to sign with the Giants.**

1. San Francisco -- Aaron Rodgers, QB, Cal
Can't trade out of top spot; can't pass on Bay Area quarterback, either.
2. Miami -- Ronnie Brown , RB, Auburn
Must replace Ricky Williams; Brown helped himself at combine.
3. Cleveland -- Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan
Because GM Phil Savage won't pass up best player in draft.
4. Chicago -- Cedric Benson , RB, Texas
Remember, you don't win December games in Chicago by passing.
5. Tampa Bay -- Cadillac Williams , RB, Auburn
There's no balance if there's no running back; Bucs desperately need one.
6. Tennessee -- Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami
Rebuilding starts at cornerback, where Titans damaged by losses of Rolle, Dyson.
7. Minnesota -- Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas
Sure, they need a wide receiver, but Vikes need to plug defensive holes first.
8. Arizona -- Alex Smith, QB, Utah
Dennis Green's "mea culpa" for passing on Roethlisberger, Rivers.
9. Washington -- Adam Jones, CB, West Virginia
Somebody has to replace Fred Smoot; the Redskins start here.
10. Detroit -- Marcus Spears, DE, LSU
Lions looking for defensive help; versatile Spears plays can inside or out.
11. Dallas -- Shawne Merriman, DE, Maryland
Edge pass rusher who's perfect fit for the team's 3-4 defense.
12. San Diego -- Mike Williams, WR, USC
Bolts have Brees, Rivers; now they start giving them weapons.
13. Houston -- Alex Barron , T, Florida State
Protection of Carr continues with draft's best lineman.
14. Carolina -- Heath Miller , TE, Virginia
Wide receiver possibility, too, but club needs help at tight end.
15. Kansas City -- Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn
After fanning on Rolle, Chiefs look to draft for next cornerback.
16. New Orleans -- Thomas Davis, S, Georgia
Projects to safety or outside linebacker; Saints can use help in both areas.
17. Cincinnati -- Travis Johnson, DT, Florida State
Helps at a position of need, with Bengals hot for a run stopper.
18. Minnesota -- Troy Williamson, WR, South Carolina
Now Vikes get a wide receiver, and he has speed to be a deep threat.
19. St. Louis -- Jammal Brown , T, Oklahoma
With future of Turley looking bleak, Rams need OT help.
20. Dallas -- Marcus Johnson , OT, Mississippi
First it was Marco Rivera; rebuilding of offensive line continues with versatile Johnson.
21. Jacksonville -- Erasmus James, DE, Wisconsin
Potential to be great sacker; fits in well with addition of Hayward.
22. Baltimore -- Mark Clayton, WR, Oklahoma
Probably will tilt for defense here, but why not help Boller again?
23. Seattle -- Dan Cody, DE, Oklahoma
Aggressive pass rusher who takes over for departed Okeafor.
24. Green Bay -- Channing Crowder, LB, Florida
Arrival could allow the Packers to move Barnett outside.
25. Denver -- David Pollack, DE, Georgia
Broncos struck out on Jags' Hayward; still looking for outside defender.
26. N.Y. Jets -- Anttaj Hawthorne, DT, Wisconsin
With DT Ferguson gone to Dallas, club's on the lookout for anchor vs. run.
27. Atlanta -- Khalif Barnes , OT, Washington
At last, Falcons start thinking about protecting Vick.
28. San Diego -- Matt Roth, DE, Iowa
Chargers looking for speed off the edge; explosive Roth has it.
29. Indianapolis -- Barrett Ruud, LB, Nebraska
Instinctive, productive player who can help Colts vs. the run.
30. Pittsburgh -- Shaun Cody, DT, USC
Ideal for Steelers' DL rotation; could become defensive end.
31. Philadelphia -- Demarcus Ware, LB/DE, Troy State
Eagles never pass up quality pass rushers; could become outside linebacker.
32. New England -- Kevin Burnett, LB, Tennessee
With Phifer gone and Bruschi's status uncertain, linebacker a position of need.

I agree. Pete Prisco had a mock (which I thought sucked) where we took Dan Cody at #10. Eh, here's Pete's.

1 SF Alex Smith, QB
2 MIA Ronnie Brown, RB
3 CLE Aaron Rodgers, QB
4 CHI Braylon Edwards
5 TB Carnell Williams, RB
6 TEN Antrel Rolle, CB
7 MIN Troy Williamson, WR
8 ARI Cedric Benson, RB
9 WAS Adam Jones, CB
10 DET Dan Cody, DE
11 DAL Shawne Merriman, DE
12 SD Roddy White, WR
13 HOU Alex Barron, T
14 CAR Derrick Johnson, LB
15 KC Mike Williams, WR
16 NO Jammal Brown, OT
17 CIN Travis Johnson, DT
18 MIN Erasmus James, DE
19 STL Carlos Rogers, CB
20 DAL Mark Clayton, WR
21 JAC Khalif Barnes, OT
22 BAL Marcus Spears, DE
23 SEA Shaun Cody, DT, USC
24 GB David Baas, G-C
25 DEN Reggie Brown, WR
26 NYJ Fabian Washington, CB
27 ATL Channing Crowder, LB
28 SD Thomas Davis, S
29 IND Mike Patterson, DT
30 PIT Heath Miller, TE
31 PHI Daryl Blackstock, LB
32 NE David Pollack, DE

Williamson going ahead of Mike Williams? DJ falling to 14? I have to think Green Bay will go D in the first..

Where are people getting these ludacris thoughts that Mike Williams is falling out of the top 9? I don't think he falls out of the top 5. Gruden has given so many signs that he is going to take him at #5.

Ditto... no one can convince me that 9 GMs will pass on a player like Derrick Johnson. Talent like that at the linebacker position only comes around once in a few years.

Gruden is also said to be enamored of Carnell Williams, and he can only pick one of them. So who is it going to be? I really feel that Gruden will go with Carnell over Mike.

Also, I don't see Cleveland springing for Derrick Johnson at #3, but I do think the Bears will take him at #4 more so than taking Cedric Benson or Carnell Williams, as some have said they may do.

Gruden made one quote at the senior bowl that Carnell was having a terrific week... That's it...

There's much more evidence out there that points to Mike Williams going #5... on KFFL Michael Clayton was pushing for the Bucs to draft Williams in an article... at Williams' workout both Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden attended the workout... Williams ran at the combine when he said he wasn't going to do so, hinting at the fact that a team told him that his stock is high, he didn't even bring a pair of shoes but ran with someone else's... also on Pro Football Weekly under the "Way we heard it", it states that the Bucs told Williams that if he was there at #5, they would take him, thus allowing him to run knowing that his stock was high. Tampa was extraordinarily interested in him last season as well, when they took Clayton, I heard from Jason at PFD, who spoke with a Tampa scout he knows last year. Pro Football Talk also wrote an article similar to Pro Football Weekly... GBN Report also stated that Williams was targeted by Tampa with the 5th pick...

And with a rusher like Michael Pittman already in place, and only Joey Galloway and Michael Clayton at WR, it's a larger need. Charlie Garner will also be back in the backfield.

As for Johnson... I don't see Chicago picking him up. They will go with RB or WR... Jerry Angelo said that they were "looking for the best offensive player" at #4. Makes sense, as their offense was the worst in the league last year and their defense was solid, it carried them in their victories.

Good post Brian. I agree with all of that, except I think Charlie Garner is a shmuck. Pittman was decent last year and will be better this year if Ds don't stack the box and have to double Williams and Clayton.
