Warner over Manning as Giants starter
The New York Giants will open the season with veteran Kurt Warner as their starting quarterback, according to the Associated Press. Warner got the nod over Eli Manning on Sunday, three days after the rookie struggled in the team's preseason game against the Jets. In that contest, Warner was 9-of-11 for 104 yards while Manning converted just four of his 14 attempts for 20 yards, including two interceptions and a fumble - ouch!

Probably a good move for now. Although I am sure Warner won't stay healthy all year, so Manning will have the job before the end.

Warner scares me when he is under center. He has poor mechanics, horrible pocket presence, and no mobility. Manning actually looked like an NFL QB, whereas Warner looks like a scrub off the street. But Warner gets the job done. His accuracy has improved from last season and his ability to read NFL defenses far surpasses Manning's. The fact that he is familar with the league and seems to be much better with the team is the reason he is the starter, he brings stability whereas Manning brings uncertainty, something the G-Men don't need this season.
