 Ware at 40?
SI just annointed Ware best athlete in the draft. How do you feel about drafting him with our second round pick? He is an incredible athlete. A WR with 4.4 speed and a 6-6 frame would be scary. It is all about projection. Will he be able to develop as a player to the point where his measurables come into play? There is so much upside I would consider him at 40 depending on who else might be there like a Mike Roth or Demarcus Ware guy.

Did you mean Jones at 41? If so, I would take him if available.

Matt Jones looks like a stud at the combine, but where would we put him? #3 WR, TE, or even a #3 QB? A 6-6 QB would be nice so he could see over those DL. I haven't been impressed with Jones as much as I have over his versatility. He needs a true position though, and he hasn't shown me that. I'd take Roth or Ware over Jones.

I've never really seen a qb that tall. I sure he would be converted to WR. I would like a speed rusher in round two, so for me it is a moot point.

There's some tall QBs in this draft. Andrew Walter from Az St is 6-6 as is Derek Anderson from Oregon St. Dan Orlovsky is 6-5. Alex Smith is even 6-4.

LOL, yes, OK, that is what I meant. Thanks for the correction. I did not mean to imply the 40 yard dash time.

I would take a shot at him. I had heard he can catch really well.
Quote: We charted every pass thrown to him during the Senior Bowl week, and [he] caught all but one," one personnel director said.
So, as a receiver, he's bigger than Southern California's Mike Williams, he's faster, he's more explosive and he might have better hands.

But you can't rely on CRog staying healthy...and Az isn't a reliable #2 guy IMO. His place is the slot as a #3 man. We need depth. Swinton and Kircus don't cut it in my book. I do like Swinton though.

Jones played well all year. The game that stands out was last season when he took Tennesse to 4 overtimes. Jones is a football player who ever drafts him will get a steal.
The way the lions draft I cant see us taking him. But someone like the Steelers would defentily grab him

The Steelers need a TE. If they miss out on Heath, I could see them taking Jones, otherwise I would say Heath is a solid guess. Jones would fit well in their offense though, and with his speed - watch out Ds. It's too bad we play em next season. I don't know if Bly or Bryant could cover someone like Jones who's 6-6 and runs a 4.3
