It should surprise no one that Lions head coach Steve Mariucci will be using several running backs this season, as if he's ever done that before. Either Kevin Jones or Artose Pinner will be on the field first, depending on how the first 15 plays are scripted. "It's not going to matter," Mariucci told the Detroit News. "Those two guys ? "Rock ?em and Sock ?em" ? are going to be alternating in there. Those two guys will play in the first drive. We'll mix and match ? hot hand, who's playing well, what kind of plays we're running. They're both going to be busy guys." According to Mariucci, Shawn Bryson will also see the field on passing downs. Ahhh, "Rock ?em and Sock ?em" - for once it pays to be a little older so I can understand what Mooch is talking about... Come on Mooch, Jones is expected to be a stud - let's see what he's got!

Bears' Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher was upgraded from questionable to probable after practicing again on Friday and will start against the Lions this Sunday. He strained his hamstring on the second day of training camp and missed the preseason. Head coach Lovie Smith has indicated that backup Hunter Hillenmeyer will see some time if Urlacher needs a break after missing so much time - yeah right!

The Bears upgraded R.W. McQuarters from questionable to probable on the injury report for Sunday's game against the Lions after the starting cornerback practiced again on Friday. McQuarters has been nursing a right hamstring strain for two weeks. Humm, throw at a broken McQuarters or a healthy Tillman - Hey Joey, that's an easy one and try to get Rogers matched up on the quarter pounder...

We can only hope that Hillenmeyer plays instead of Urlacher...
