Damn I could see that happening too and that is quite different from Goose's mock. Now, I remember why I do not do mock drafts!

My shock and awe...

Heath Miller to the Skins at 9???

Lions take Erasmus? I'd much rather have Merriman. James is worthy of no higher than a 15 pick. I would love to take him, but only if we trade down.

Ronnie Brown going after Cadillac?

I can't see TB taking Cadillac, they'd take Williams first.

KC won't take a DT.

SD will scarf up a CB if Rolle or Pac-Man is left, otherwise it's a DE.

Troy WIlliamson won't slip to 21 with that pro day he had.

Carlos Rogers won't slip to 25. He'll go mid to late teens.

I thought Demarcus Ware is projected as a DE? Pittsburgh would most likely take another wideout or reach for Alex Smith before taking Ware.

Chris Henry in the first round???

Mind boggling, isn't it? And this coming from a 'draft expert'.

 I just can't see Miami taking DJ at #2, not with all of their other needs. I don't agree with alot of that mock, but then again, I'm not the expert either. :-k

I know how many sources it would take to do a good mock so I never try to any more than the top 10. What people have to remember is that all these media mocks are self-referential. This creates a seeming consensus before the NFL teams have even set their draft boards. If you add in the lack of top blue chip talent, a greater disparity of systems, and disagreement about player ranks you would appreciate that there is a lot more variability than the phoney consensus we have seen in the media so far. I suspect the draft will play out a lot more like Goose and Coyle say than people think now.

Think the Draft Daddy is a Lions' fan?! Thanks to a couple of reaches in the first round, the Lions get DJ and a DE gem falling to them....

I know there isn't much point to placing too much stock in a mock draft, but right now, these various commercial mocks are all we have to feed the beast.... tongue8.gif

My favorite day ever as a Lions fan.

Somehow landing the Ndamo-nator would be the second best day ever.

I don't like the Lions picking James, his injury history scares me and I think that will cause him to drop into the mid to late 1st round.

I do think he has the post potential of any DE in the draft IF he stays completely healthy. There's no denying the guy's ability when healthy. I don't want to take a gamble on an injury ridden DE though.

Yorick, that is not my draft. It is just one of many that I frequent regularly for the general consensus among the so-called experts.

I have endeavored to compile my own mock a few times, but it would end up looking like so many others and I just can't get serious about predicting a static draft when I know there will undoubtedly be some trades taking place....basically, I am a sissy.

I just try to post the drafts I find more remarkable....personally, I find Gosselin's draft very compelling....especially considering some of the picks for other teams....

Coyle has been pretty outrageous (and inaccurate) the past few seasons... I wouldn't be surprised at all if he only got around 2 picks right.
