However, I also recognize the popularity of NASCAR so have at it.
BTW - I'm a huge soccer fan, but I certainly don't expect most people on this board to be fans of the beautiful game.
Perhaps we need an "Other Sports" thread for NASCAR, soccer, golf, tennis, boxing, olympics, ping pong, etc...

WOW such a response to a thread that's voluntary to view, I'm not a huge fan of hockey or basketball, so I choose not to view those threads.

I simply added it due to some requests.
Keep in mind, we have an NCAA bball section that has 189 posts over the span of nearly 900 days. Take it for what it's worth.
NASCAR is becoming more and more popular...as is soccer. If we have requests for a soccer section...why not?

I personally like the idea of the "Other Sports" forum. Some people like NASCAR, tennis, golf, soccer, etc., while other do not. It would encompass all of the non-major sports in the US and abroad. If certain people don't care for it, they don't have to click on the thread. It's just that simple! I hate basketball and have never clicked on the NCAA forum, but I have on the NBA forum when a player inevitably does something stupid. Do the basketball fans have the right and the opportunity to talk about basketball all they want to on this site? Yes. Should they? Yes. Just because I don't like the sport doesn't mean that other people shouldn't be allowed to discuss it here. The same should go for the other sports.
If people want to talk about something, give them the space and the opportunity to do so.

I still think we should just have one "Other Sports" forum, that includes Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, NCAA, etc.

It would be "vountary" to add all sorts of forms (Farming, Dance, Writing, Reading, Math, Plate spinning, ext) that doesn't mean we should muddy up the board and throw a crap load of titles out there just because it is "voluntary" to view them.
