Post My rant
This guy is just what the team needed. Holy cow, the offense is great now that we actually have a C who can pass, shoot and be a reliable FT shooter. Just watching yesterday's game, I couldn't believe how good of a passer Webber is. I just hope the guy can stay healthy through the playoffs...if not, we're doomed. They still need to do something with Sheed, he's so inconsistent. Prince needs to be forced into doing more, like Rip is. Prince has tons of potential and could be one of the top SF's in the league, but isn't because most games he takes a whopping 6 shots.

Even though they lost against the Mavs (and were in control of the tempo nearly the entire game), they still looked good. Delfino is making good improvement and looking good. I was surprised by how well Murray played, considering he looked horrible for most of the season.

I just wish guys like Blalock and the other young guys would get more of a shot to play...but in such close games, they can't really afford it.

I agree CO2! Webber was just what our offense and team period needed. I'm not at all surprised of how good a passer he is because I remember his Sacramento King days and he has always had great court vision since his UM days. However, I must admit I am surprised that that he has been such a great fit and compliment to our team. Watching Webb has been very painful the last few years, especially considering I've been following him even since his UM days. I honestly thought his career was done and that he wouldn't contribute much at all to the Pistons. I'm very happy that I'm eating those words though. I disagree that we would be doomed w/o Webber if he were to get injured. We still have a great core w/o him.

Sheed is inconsistent at times, but he is invaluable as well. I also agree that Prince needs to get more involved, but we have alot of options so he doesn't need to force it.

As for Flip, I'm not too surprised by his play lately. I'm more surprised at how he has struggled this year more than anything. Flip is a very good scorer and can do alot of little things, but for whatever reason he hasn't fit into what we were trying to do w/ our rotation. I think that Chauncey's injury and Hunter's suspension may be a blessing in disguise because it forces us to give Flip minutes and build his confidence going into the postseason, where we really need his contributuion.

I'm glad that Sheed has been suspended, Rip has been out, Hunter was suspended for 10 games, and Billups was nursing a groin pull...it got those guys like Murray, Dice, and Maxiell forced into starting roles and much more PT. Maxiell had a monster game and was extremely impressive. More PT and he could be a solid, powerful, young PF. He does need to work on his range, but other than that, the guy could be special.

Murray looked bad early on and has looked much, much, much better after forced PT.

Just in time for the playoffs too!!!

IMO not playing our youth, including Darko, has hurt WAY more than it has helped this team...

I agree CO2. All of these injuries and suspensions have allowed Dice and Delfino to find their groove coming in off the bench. This is the best stretch I have ever seen Delfino play in quite some time. Hell, Dice too. Also, Murray and Maxiell have been forced into starting roles and have played above and beyond what was expected. Forget wins and losses right now, this team is getting cohesiveness at the right time.

As for Maxiell, he is going to be a special player. He is a shoter post player like Ben was, and makes up for his lack of height w/ his heart and physical play. He already has a jumper out to 15 feet, so he just needs to polish his post moves and free throw percentage and I can see him being our future at PF for the next 10 years.....
